Web & Server App Development
An 18-week full-stack course: build web interfaces with React, then the backend that serves them — Node, Express and Parse Server — and deploy the result.
Outcome: Ship a deployed full-stack application with real users and stored data.
Learners start with React and local state, then connect to a real backend they can use before they have to build one. By week 10 they have a deployed app with user accounts and stored data.
The second half goes under the hood: Node, HTTP, Express, and then Parse Server — which turns out to be an Express application they can now read. Cloud Code stops being magic and becomes ordinary server code.
Requires Introduction to JavaScript, or equivalent experience with JavaScript fundamentals, the DOM and async code.
