Mentor Someone Learning to Code
Mentorship is the one thing our learners need most and we can't buy. A few hours a month from someone who does this for a living changes how far a learner gets.
What a mentor actually does
- Answers questions in the Discord when a learner is stuck — often the thing that decides whether they keep going.
- Reviews a learner's weekly assignment on GitHub and leaves a few comments a professional would leave.
- Joins a live class now and then to talk about real work: what the job is like, how you got in.
- Gives feedback on final projects and, if you can, comes to Demo Day.
The real time commitment
- 2–4 hours a month. That's it — most of it on your own schedule.
- Remote is fine. If you're in Accra, in-person sessions are welcome but never required.
- Cohorts run for 12 weeks. You can commit to one cohort and stop, or stay on.
Skills that help
- JavaScript, web or mobile development — that's what our main course teaches.
- AI tools and automation, design, or entrepreneurship, for our workshops.
- Career experience: CV reviews, mock interviews, how hiring actually works.
- Patience matters more than seniority. Two years into your first job is plenty.
What DuabaNti provides
- The full curriculum and every assignment, already written — you don't prepare lessons.
- Automatic checks on most assignments, so your time goes on judgement, not marking.
- A short briefing before your first session and a named contact on our team.
- A match to a learner or cohort that fits your skills and the time you have.
