Introduction to JavaScript
Course 1 of Road To Tech. Twelve weeks from your first line of code to a working program you demo live — for complete beginners, free, in Accra and online.
Outcome: Write real JavaScript and Node.js programs — the first step on Road To Tech.
JavaScript is the most accessible doorway into modern software, and this is the full twelve weeks of it. You start by printing a line to a screen and finish by demoing a program that solves a real problem for a real person you can name.
One live class a week and one assignment a week, each building on the last. The rest of the week you work through the lessons at your own pace, with a Discord full of people doing the same thing at the same time. Two mini projects and a final project you present at Demo Day.
Most weeks are checked automatically the moment you push your work, so you find out something is broken on Wednesday rather than after the deadline.
This is the first of Road To Tech's three courses: after it come Web & Server App Development and Mobile App Development, which end with a website, its server and a mobile app you have deployed yourself. Cohort 1 started on Wednesday 7 October 2026 and is now closed. Cohort 2 is coming soon: join the waitlist on this page and we will email you the moment its dates are set. One live class a week, four study days spread across the week — Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday, never Saturday — and a Discord that answers. Built around people with jobs and people still in school. There is no fee and no application to pass.
